Hello, My name is Gary Christy

Owner of Life Through Lenses Photography

 

I would like to personally thank you for visiting my site. My approach to capturing images is casual with attention to detail to produce a professional image.

 

I specialize in “On Location” Wedding and Portrait Photography. I travel to you to create one of a kind images of your engagement, wedding, family, senior portraits, head shots for business. 

It is always my goal to create the best image possible regardless of subject by adjusting to the environment in which I shoot.


I began my journey into photography as a child capturing snapshots with a point and shoot Instamatic. From there I used a variety of different cameras and films to capture birthdays, graduations and other subjects of interest.

 


Beginning in 1988 as a young adult I gained 9 years experience working for Hall Signs one of the largest sign manufacturing companies in the United States.

 


I was trained in manufacturing, packing, shipping/receiving and the graphic arts department.

It was while working in the graphics department I utilized industry specific CAD sign design and layout equipment to produce camera ready artwork. The artwork was then developed in a darkroom using photographic techniques for silk screen printing. 

 


For a period of time I continued making photographs using traditional methods on film having to patiently wait to see how my images look after they were processed and printed.

 

My transition from film to digital photography began in September of 2004 when I received my first digital camera from my wife Lisa prior to our Honeymoon vacation.

Soon there after I began my education of digital capture by attending photography seminars in Indianapolis hosted by Roberts Distributors with professional photographer/instructor Rick Sammon and photography programming on the DIY Network with professional photographer/instructor Erin Manning


Over the past 20 plus years my skills have increased by applying knowledge learned from work experience, techniques learned from the photographers/instructors mentioned above as well as countless hours of self study.

 


I have combined the benefits of education with the instant feedback digital technology provides to ensure my photography is of highest quality during the first capture.

 


With this in mind the images I create for you can be enjoyed for years to come. I would appreciate the opportunity to serve your photography needs.
